Chuck Gray was born Mesa on January 20, 1958 to Dale and Janice Gray. He went to grade school at Adams Elementary School and later attended Powell Junior High. Chuck graduated from Mesa High School 1976, and went on to serve 2 years in Spain as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where he learned to speak fluent Spanish.

Upon his return, Chuck worked in the family construction business as a brick, block and stone mason while he attended Mesa Community College. He met Connie Jones who quickly became his sweetheart for life. Chuck and Connie were married in 1980 and have been happily married for over 22 years. They now have five beautiful children.

Chuck worked twelve years in the family business as a mason, foreman and superintendent. Fulfilling his life long dream to become a Police Officer, Chuck joined the Mesa Police Department in 1990, where he served for over ten years. He served in many areas including Patrol, Community Relations, and as a Detective in the Auto Theft Unit. He served as Field Training Officer (FTO) training new officers. He also served for eight years as a intermediate Spanish translator for the department..Chuck was particularly interested in helping kids leave the gang life which lead him to be selected to head up a youth outreach program called, Gang Resistance Education and Training (G.R.E.A.T.). He instituted and personally taught the anti-gang program in ten Mesa Public Schools junior high schools.

Chuck also served in the Mesa Police Gang Unit. and certified as a Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) officer for the Mesa Police Department. His dedication to helping troubled youth led him to work in the Police Athletics League (PAL) where he help kids stay off the streets on Friday and Saturday nights. Chuck also served as a Scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts of America for four and a half years.

Following his career in law enforcement, Chuck took a full time position as head of an Internet company he established in 1997. His company, markets automotive accessories around the world.

Chuck and Connie worked together as precinct committeemen in their district. Chuck has also served the National Issues Committee in his district and was elected to the position of Third Vice chair of the largest and most active legislative district in the State. (District 19).
